Hala Alkhatib is a Palestinian American from Northern California. She works as the administrative assistant and is part of a team that is dedicated to researching language development in children with fragile X syndrome. As part of her independent project, she is researching relationships between parental behavior, parental warmth/criticism, and child language outcomes in children with fragile X syndrome. Moving forward, she is dedicated to getting her Ph.D. and focusing her future research on neurodivergent communities in the Middle Eastern world. Hala is passionate about raising awareness and educating her community on neurodiversity. She hopes to continue with outreach to her community and eventually become a mentor to the younger generations to come.
